Dr. Subin's PhysioCare

Dr. Subin's PhysioCare is the group's physiotherapy and rehabilitation practice, led by Dr. Subin Prabhu, a consultant physiotherapist with six years in practice, a master's in sports physiotherapy and honorary attachments at four Mumbai hospitals across Sion and Dharavi. Every case begins with assessment — range of motion, strength, gait and the movement patterns that provoke the symptom — because the site of pain and the source of the problem are frequently not the same place, and treating the first without finding the second produces relief that does not last.

Treatment combines hands-on therapy, electrotherapy and prescribed exercise. Manual technique, dry needling and taping address restriction and pain directly; ultrasound, interferential therapy, TENS, short-wave diathermy and cervical or lumbar traction are used where the presentation calls for them; and the exercise programme rebuilds the strength, control and endurance that keep the improvement once the sessions end. Progress is measured against the function the patient came in wanting back — a stair climbed, a shift worked, a sport returned to — rather than against pain scores alone.

The caseload runs from stroke and paralysis rehabilitation, where recovery is measured over months, through sports injury and pre- and post-surgical programmes, to the everyday complaints that make up most of the work: low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, cervical and lumbar spondylosis, knee pain and frozen shoulder. Geriatric and paediatric cases are seen alongside them. Home care physiotherapy covers patients for whom travelling to a clinic is itself the obstacle — post-surgical, elderly and mobility-limited patients who would otherwise not be treated at all — and follow-up review is available online.
