About
Dr. Selvan Foundation exists because a consulting room only ever reaches the people who can get to it. The foundation runs community health camps that take consultation out to neighbourhoods, workplaces and schools — screening, a consultation with a practitioner, and either treatment on the day or a referral into the group's clinics where the case needs longer attention.
Subsidised treatment carries the patients that camps identify. Where cost is what stands between someone and a course of treatment, the foundation meets part or all of it, and the case is then managed on the same clinical terms as any other — the discount is on the fee, never on the standard of care or the length of the consultation.
Awareness programmes are the preventive half of the work. Sessions on chronic disease, seasonal illness, nutrition and when to seek help are run in plain language for audiences with no medical background, on the reasoning that a family who recognises a warning sign early needs far less treatment than one who arrives late.

Ethicare Ethics Committee
Coming soonIndependent ethical review of clinical research, constituted under the foundation.
Ethicare provides independent ethical review for clinical research: examining protocols, informed consent documents and investigator credentials before a study begins, and reviewing the conduct of approved studies while they run. Its remit is the protection of participants — that risk is justified, that consent is genuinely informed and freely given, and that vulnerable participants are not enrolled without specific safeguards. The committee is being constituted and is not yet accepting submissions.
